To help celebrate the end of a successful 2019, PUBG presented us with a challenge. They’d achieved massive success and consistent streaming content from top-level players, but compared to Fortnite, there was a lack of attention paid to casual players’ achievements. To help bridge the gap between the noobs and high-skill players, we created the first annual PUBG Awards, a series of gameplay challenges that emphasized thrills over skills. The contest provided an opportunity for the brand to celebrate players of all stripes and award fan favorites with prizes like custom helmet trophies for creating top content.
